Kingsland Locke Opens May in Dalston
Aparthotel brand Locke will open Kingsland Locke in Dalston this May. The venture, which is the company’s fourth property in London, will include KRAFT Dalston micobrewery and gin distillery.
Kingsland Locke will have 124 studio apartments designed for both business and leisure travellers as well as an on site gin distillery and microbrewery. There will also be an all-day restaurant, coffee bar, co-working space and workout studio, ensuring that all your needs are met.
“This launch … has been all about championing the local Dalston area and seeking partners and collaborators that call the area home – from the architects to artists. With Kingsland Locke, we are aiming to celebrate Dalston’s unique creative landscape, and in doing so, create an environment in which both travellers and locals feel at home,” says Stephen McCall, CEO of edyn, owners of the Locke brand.
Kingsland Locke’s lower ground floor contains an atrium space that will transform to a lively restaurant and bar at night.
KRAFT Dalston
Kingsland Locke will also host KRAFT Dalston, a venture between Jim and Tonic Distillery, Kraft Brewery and Le Bab. Locke calculates that having a microbrewery and gin distillery on site will reduce their CO2 footprint by three-quarters through reducing deliveries and packaging.
The design of the communal spaces by East London studio Red Deer reflects the vibrant nature of the area while the rooms exhibit a more muted relaxing palette.
The aparthotel is walking distance from local East London attractions, including Broadway Market, Columbia Road Flower Market and Dalston Curve Garden.
Kingsland Locke has instigated a programme to highlight local artists, starting with Nam Tran, a local ceramicist and initial Creative in Residence.
Locke has opened six properties in four years in London, Manchester and Edinburgh. Further aparthotels are planned for Berlin, Copenhagen, Dublin, Lisbon and Munich.
Kingsland Locke Rates
