Lovett, The London Dungeon
Address:
County Hall, Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7PB, UK, London, UK
Description:

Since its inception in 1974, the London Dungeon has been one of the capital’s major tourist attractions. The original London Dungeon was situated in Tooley Street close to London Bridge Station, but it was moved in 2013 to be closer to other attractions owned by the Merlin Group including the London Eye.

Using a mix of actors, special effects and rides, the London Dungeon takes you through 1,000 years of the capital’s bloody history, often with a gallows sense of humour. Infamous characters portrayed include Jack the Ripper and Sweeney Todd, whilst you are taking back to the Gunpowder Plot and the Black Death. You can even experience a public hanging as it used to be performed at Newgate.

If this sounds a little macabre, then bear in mind that the target audience has been described as “young teenagers and the credulous” by the Rough Guide. So one to take the kids with you when in the capital. Allow an hour for your visit.
