The Almeida Theatre will stage John Osborne’s Look Back in Anger this Autumn. Directed by Atri Banerjee, the play is part of the theatre’s Angry and Young season along with Arnold Wesker’s Root.
The Almeida Theatre will provide more details of the full Angry and Young season at a later stage.
Former Almeida Resident Director Atri Banerjee directs Osborne’s ground-breaking play which changed British theatre forever when first performed in 1956. Banerjee’s has refocused the play in 2024. Are we still angry?
Look Back in Anger Plot
Frustrated by his post-war life and embittered by the disapproving family of his wife Alison, Jimmy Porter turns to rage. One night, as one of Alison’s friends pops over, their marriage descends into freefall.
Look Back in Anger Cast
Billy Howle plays Jimmy Porter, with Ellora Torchia as his wife Alison. Other cast includes Michael Abubakar, Morfydd Clark, Iwan Davies, Deka Walmsley, Eliot Salt, Sophie Stanton and Tony Turner.
